APPLICATIONS OF BIG DATA ANALYTICS - NETWORK SECURITY

Abstract

The term Big Data refers to large-scale information management and analysis technologies that exceed the capability of traditional data processing technologies. Big data is surprising in several ways. As a technology, it does not fall into any obvious category, but instead spans several categories. The objective of the paper is to describe the promise and potential of big data analytics in security. The paper describes the nascent field of big data analytics in security, discusses the benefits, outlines an architectural framework and methodology, describes examples reported in the literature, briefly discusses the challenges, and offers conclusions.
